FAQs
About Australian Luxury Wool
Who are you?
Australian Luxury Wool is an Australian-owned and operated business, bringing you cosy sheepskin footwear, knitwear and accessories made from natural Australian wool. Every order is packed with care at our warehouse in Sydney, New South Wales.
Are your products made in Australia?
Many of our products are proudly made in Australia. Look for the "Australian Made" label on the product page. Some styles are made overseas using genuine Australian sheepskin and wool, and each product page clearly shows where that item is made.
What's the difference between sheepskin, merino and wool blends?
- Sheepskin is the natural hide with the wool still attached. It's used in our boots and slippers because it's naturally warm, breathable and moisture-wicking.
- Merino wool is a fine, soft fibre that's perfect for knitwear, scarves and beanies, and it's gentle against the skin.
- Wool blends combine wool with other fibres for extra softness, stretch or durability. Full fibre details are listed on each product page.
Why does my product look slightly different from the photo?
Wool and sheepskin are natural materials, so every piece has its own character. Small differences in colour, texture and wool density are normal and part of what makes each item unique. Screen settings can also affect how colours appear.
Sizing and fit
What size should I order?
Choose your usual Australian shoe size. If you're between sizes, we generally recommend sizing down in sheepskin boots, as they mould to your foot over time. Check the size guide on each product page for exact measurements.
My new boots feel tight. Is that normal?
Yes. Genuine sheepskin boots should feel snug, but not painful, at first. The wool lining gradually compresses and shapes itself to your feet over the first couple of weeks of wear.
How do I convert US, UK or EU sizes?
Our size guide includes a conversion chart. As a rough guide, Australian women's sizes match US women's sizes, and Australian men's sizes match UK men's sizes. Check the chart for each style, as fits can vary.
What if the size isn't right?
No stress. You can return unworn items for a refund within [30] days and reorder the right size. Try them on indoors on a clean surface so they stay in returnable condition. See our Returns & Refunds Policy for details.

Shipping and delivery
Where do you ship from?
All orders are packed and dispatched from our warehouse in Sydney, New South Wales.
How quickly will my order be sent?
Most orders leave our warehouse within 1–2 business days of payment clearing. We dispatch Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. During big sales and the lead-up to Christmas, it may take a little longer.
How much is delivery within Australia?
- Standard delivery: $10, or free on orders over $100
- Express delivery: $15
Standard delivery usually takes 1–3 business days to metro areas and 3–5 business days to regional areas after dispatch.
Do you ship overseas?
Yes, we ship to many countries worldwide. International standard delivery is $15 AUD and express is $20 AUD. Most parcels arrive within 5–10 business days after dispatch, depending on customs.
Will I have to pay customs or import fees?
Possibly. Some countries charge duties, taxes or handling fees on imported goods. These are payable by you and aren't included in our prices. Some countries also have rules on importing wool and animal-fibre products, so it's worth checking before you order.
How do I track my parcel?
We'll email you a tracking link as soon as your order is dispatched. Please allow 24–48 hours for tracking to update. For some international orders, tracking may be limited once the parcel leaves Australia.
My parcel is late. What now?
Check your tracking link first. If it's still not arrived after the estimated timeframe, contact us and we'll chase it up with the courier for you. If it's confirmed lost, we'll send a replacement or refund you.

Caring for your wool
Can I wear sheepskin boots outside?
Yes, most of our boots are designed for indoor and outdoor wear. Before you head out, treat them with a water and stain protector spray, and reapply it every few weeks.
Are they waterproof?
Sheepskin is naturally water-resistant, not waterproof. Avoid puddles, heavy rain and snow, as soaking can stain the suede and stiffen the leather.
How do I clean my boots or slippers?
- Brush off dirt with a soft suede brush once they're completely dry.
- Spot-clean marks with a sheepskin cleaner and a damp sponge.
- Stuff them with paper towel and air-dry them naturally, away from heaters, sunlight and dryers.
- Never machine-wash, soak or tumble-dry sheepskin.
How do I care for wool knitwear?
- Hand-wash in cool water with a wool wash, or use your machine's wool cycle if the care label allows it.
- Don't wring or twist. Gently press out excess water.
- Dry flat in the shade to keep its shape.
- Store folded, not hung, and keep it away from moths with cedar or lavender.
My knitwear has little balls of fluff. Is it faulty?
No. That's called pilling, and it's natural for wool, especially in areas of friction. Gently remove pills with a fabric comb or de-piller, and they'll reduce over time.
